The European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva was held for the third time this year. From the 7th - 9th May 2003, a lot of visitors came to Geneva to see the exhibition as well as the static display of aircraft.

A very insteresting exhibition for both, visitors and exhibitors. And as always, a lot of news were announced during the trade days. A small review of the important news can been found here:

 

Boeing has launched the 717 Business Express as a shuttle aircraft for high-density corporate travel. For a full coverage, please read our report on the subject: The Need for Global Shuttles
Boeing Business Jets signed an agreement with Lufthansa Technik that designates the company as an authorized warranty repair facility and service center, providing Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) operators another service option in Europe.
Bombardier Aerospace introduced the latest enhancement to its Skyjet Europe charter service, launching a new online reservation system which offers fast, efficient pricing for trips to over 500 European airports.
The Bombardier Challenger – the industry’s first true super-midsize business jet – touched down at the EBACE in Geneva, marking the European debut of the newest member of Bombardier’s highly successful Challenger aircraft family.
Cessna’s Citation Sovereign production assembly line is nearing completion. Of the 17 stations that make up the complete line, 13 are fully operational. Currently, Sovereign serial numbers 003 through 012 are in various stages of assembly.
Dassault is celebrating 40 years of Falcons. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the first flight of a Falcon business jet - the Mystère 20. Since then, more than 1600 planes have been built. The combined fleet has accumulated more than 10 million flight hours.
Honeywell announced that it has signed an agreement to upgrade VF Corporation’s Falcon F50 aircraft with Honeywell’s TFE731-40 engine retrofit. Delivery of the completed aircraft is expected in the third quarter of 2003.
JetAviation reports that four aircraft were recently added to the worldwide aircraft management fleet, including one Gulfstream V and one Global Express, among others.
Raytheon Aircraft introduced the Hawker 400XP at the 2003 European Business
Aviation Conference and Exhibition.
Swissport and PrivatAir are to establish a new joint company at Geneva Airport. The new company, to be named PrivatPort, will enable the partners to play a substantial role in the exclusive executive private jet handling business.
Spain based MAC Aviation has ordered five Cessna Mustang jets. The planes will be used in Spain, Europe and the Norther Africa area.
